People Rescuing Animals, Animals Rescuing People

We were happy to be able to raise money for the Friends of the Animal Shelter in Hancock County. Thank you for the good work that you do!

Since it’s inception in early 2000, Friends of the Animal Shelter (FRIENDS) has explored alternate paths to end euthanasia as a viable means of pet over population control in Hancock County.

FRIENDS has grown and developed many programs, events, and educational opportunities to enhance the health and well-being of our local animals. For example, did you know that 40% of bites nationally are from unsprayed male dogs? Spay and Neuter Assistance Program (SNAP) offers low-cost spay and neuter rates. Right now, Friends is making it possible to adopt large breed dogs and adult animals easy and affordable! They even transport animals to areas of need for adoption.
